TreeTops Reflect

  • Product Code: 5968610W

Oxford's Reflect is a brand new series written by top children's authors, including Kaye Umansky, Narinder Dhami, Jamila Gavin and Jim Eldridge, designed to develop children's reading and comprehension skills but also offer stories that encourage empathy, thought and reflection on the part of the reader. Literacy expert and Series Editor, Nikki Gamble, has incorporated moral values and positive role-models as a key element of these fictional stories which in turn cover many of the new Relationship Education requirements in the PSHE curriculum. Inside cover notes encourage children to think about the characters in the story and 'Reflect while you read', for example, in Skyward Bound readers are asked In what ways does Jake show courage, determination and resilience in this story? Or Think about when characters forgive each other. What are the challenges and benefits of forgiveness? The 'After reading' questions directly focus children on readers' comprehension of the story. Just like the Oxford's popular series, Greatest Stories, these chapter books look and feel like 'real' books and range from book band levels Dark Blue (Oxford Level 16) to Dark Red+ (Oxford Level 20). All books are fitted with a free protective jacket.
