Year 2

These collections, of the best books for children aged 6–7 in Year 2, are ideal for children moving on from phonics and developing as readers. We offer speciality books for developing readers as well as books to stimulate, and challenge, confident and very able readers. Our experienced team read and assess hundreds of picture books, readers, non-fiction and early chapter books to choose the best and place them in the appropriate book band collections. Collections here include books at expected levels for readers in Year 2, progressing from Turquoise band, through Purple and Gold book bands with confident readers in Year 2 being offered age-appropriate books in White, Lime and Brown book bands. For schools using Accelerated Reader™, we offer Lower Years collections at just the right levels for children in year 2.
