Maverick Early Readers

Maverick Early Readers are highly illustrated and written by a team of talented authors to+ensure children’s progress in reading and visual literacy. All books follow the book band colours and are checked by the Institute of Education before publication. To encourage those still new to reading, the earlier bands are written using the phonemes and graphemes covered in the relevant Letters and Sounds phases. The vocabulary used in the books is natural English, focusing on enjoyable stories to inspire the next generation of readers. On top of the quality look and feel of these books, at the heart is a good story and expert writing. Pink to Blue books has a clear structure without being completely stilted by phonic patterns alone. From Green to Purple books, a simple quiz helps children with their comprehension. Short chapters are introduced at the Gold and White level. The packs are organised in colour bands to meet expected levels in Reception to Year 4.
