Little Wandle Reading Scheme

Big Cat Phonics for Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised books and resources support the DfE Validated Little Wandle Systematic Synthetic Phonics Teaching Programme that has been developed in collaboration with two English Hubs, Wandle Learning Trust and Little Sutton Primary School.

The programme is comprised of over 200 fully decodable, beautifully produced, reading books from Big Cat Phonics for Little Wandle, which are perfectly matched to the progression of the SSP as well as joyful and engaging mnemonics, catchphrase cards, friezes, wall charts and teacher guides. Taken together these provide a consistent and highly effective approach to teaching phonics. Additional books and resources have been added to the programme in Autumn 2022 bringing the total number of decodable books to 204, along with 50 for children aged 7+ and a brand new SEND programme.
