Floppy’s Phonics Fiction: Phase 3

These 12 Floppy’s Phonics Fiction books for Phase 3 (book band levels Red and Yellow/ Oxford Levels 2 & 3) follow the step-by-step progression that children are following in the DfE’s Letters  and Sounds programme. From leading author Roderick Hunt, these books are expertly written and enable children to build on their skills as well as practise previously learned phonemes and  graphemes. For example, in Bang the Gong (book band Red/ Oxford Level 2), children are introduced to the sounds, w, ch, sh and ng through the words will, well, chips, shed, fish, ping-pong,  long, gong, rang, bang, bong, ding, dong. The focus is on well-used digraphs as well as single-letter graphemes, such as, ch, th, sh, ng, ck and q. Yellow band/ Oxford Level 3 books are also  aligned to Letters and Sounds Phase 3.
