When the new children’s laureate, Frank Cottrell Boyce, said, “I write children’s books because I think they help build the apparatus of happiness inside us” we could not agree more, and we hope our cover story conveys our passion for sharing the joys and benefits of reading.
Supplying schools with high-quality books so children can learn to read, read for pleasure, and read for information is our mission. Uniquely in the educational book world, our expert team carefully reads every book we stock, allowing us to place it in the right collection, or reject it altogether should it not meet our demanding requirements.
This year, we have also collaborated with teacher and reading for pleasure advocate, Jon Biddle, who has created four collections of new and proven books for primary schools (see pages 42 & 43).
