Poems can inspire and raise the spirits. It is the gateway to the enjoyment of words; the rhythms, the clever use of words, the economy of language, the succinct way in which poems depict common feelings and ideas. We have designed this poetry collection in two parts; anthologies as stimulating resources for the teacher (which are also ideal assembly material) and more accessible collections for children to read and share with each other. Our favourites include renowned performance poet Benjamin Zephaniahs We Are Britain, a unique portrait of British children to challenge traditional perceptions of the way children live and Why Otters Dont Wear Socks a lively mix of wit and wisdom.
