This year saw us start working alongside book donation charity, Read International.
Founded in 2004, the book charity arranges free collections from UK schools and redistributes the books to schools in East Africa, and for those that are unsuitable; recycles or resells them.
We first found out about Read International when we looked for a charity to donate some of our school books to, that were surplus to our requirements. Learning more, we found just how important the work they do is, and was proud to be involved with such a worthy cause.
2011 has been a momentous year for the charity who delivered their millionth book to Tanzania, an event that was celebrated by both HRH Duchess of Cornwall and Her Excellency Mama Kikwete.
We’ve donated over 200 books this year, and issued 175 vouchers to schools who have recently make donations to Read International.
We are really looking forward to continuing our partnership with Read International in 2012, and will continue to support their book donation days by issuing vouchers to those who donate. You’ll also read more about the charity here on our website as we look to raise further awareness of them, and all the amazing work they do.
